Looking for future Williston enrollment???
We are conveniently located off from Route 2 in Williston, just past Taft Corners at 135 Talcott Road. The school is currently being renovated from office space to our newest school! With brick floors for the Preschool and Early Preschool classrooms, high ceilings, and schoolhouse windows to let in the natural light. Our Infant Toddler Classrooms will be on the other side of the building that was conference rooms. We are also currently working on the outdoor space that will be our Outdoor Classroom and trails on the property to encourage the natural curiosity of the children. We will be submitting for 4 STARS the day we open to be able to offer Act 166 funds to families as soon as we are approved.
At Next Generation, we are a team. The staff is comprised of licensed and certified teachers that come from various backgrounds in the Early Childhood Education field. Next Generation teachers are enrolled in classes to further their education each semester to maintain their credentials and their Early Childhood Education. Next Generation strives to provide better than state recommended staffing ratios each day; thus, teachers are allowed to truly engage with each child as they discover the world around them. The Next Generation team focuses on providing a curriculum that meets the needs of each child in the classroom as they develop. Next Generation's team of teachers takes pride to meet the needs of each child as they investigate nature-based discovery each day.
Meet the Pedagogista~ Miranda
Ped·a·go·gista : (n.) an educational adviser who works with the school, spending the majority of the time in the classroom with the teachers and children, and working also with parents. It is the pedagogist's role to help teachers improve their skills of observing and listening to the children, documenting projects, and supporting the program through a hands-on approach!
Miranda completed her Bachelor’s degree and took her first position as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher. She completed her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education/Special Education with certification at the University of Hartford. As a Program Director, she has a unique ability to individualize the early educational experiences of children and their families. Miranda is a mother of 6-year-old twins. Her favorite things to do in her free time is gardening, running, hiking/biking, reading, painting, and writing letters to friends and family the old-fashioned way! One of the things that she says she has kept since childhood is her curiosity, which is the driving force behind not only the type of person she is and the types of experiences she seeks; but also, in the type of curriculum and events that she creates for her program.
